1200 17TH ST LOBBY RENOVATION

In need of modernization, the 1984 lobby of 1200 17th St. connects the three-level retail venue, a modern hotel and 30-story office tower. Understanding the need to re-engage the visitor and raise building occupancy, the new lobby design introduces clean and natural materials, softening and lighting up the space within.

Walls of woodgrain travertine and polished metal panel, featured artwork and accents of color, dark brown marble floors and glazed storefront systems reflect the new identity for the two story glass atrium.  Above, a new translucent ceiling cloud becomes a backdrop for night back glow and branding projection during key events and softens natural light during the day. The new double height glass wall entry entry abstractly reflects the memory of the old  timepiece that once marked the entry plaza.
